Call to Action

The Florida College Access Network (FCAN) states that to be competitive, Florida needs to increase the percentage of individuals age 25 to 64 with a high-quality, post-secondary degree or credential to 60 percent by 2025. The Georgetown Center for the Workforce predicts that of all the new jobs created in Florida by 2020, 68 percent will require a post-secondary credential.

In the School District of Palm Beach County, only 42.3 percent of all graduates and 31.5 percent of low-income graduates are predicted to receive a post-secondary credential within six years of high school graduation.

This falls well short of the Florida College Access Network goal of 60 percent and far below the 68 percent of Newly created jobs in Florida that will require a post-secondary credential.
